As an educator, Stuart shares his love for a creative practice with his students. Inspiring reflection and commitment for the the art of creation. Working with youth and adults alike, Stu helps them experiment with everything from photography, still life drawing, creative writing, and mixed media painting, to print-making, sculpture with found materials (upcylcing), and stop motion production. These classes / workshops help learners understand and celebrate the creative process from beginning to end.
YOUTH
While chiché, the statement “Children are our future” couldn’t be more true. Stuart works with school-aged youth to encourage a creative practice that can build their self-confidence, help them express their feelings more effectively, and connect to the beauty of the natural world.
Highlights include:
After-school programs for local Montessori students, Mural classes at rural public schools, and upcycling workshops at “The Zone” in Margaret River.
ADULT
Adults are notoriously fearful, especially when it comes to art. Whether fearing inadequacy or failure, Stuart helps guide students through a supportive experience that allows people to challenge what they think they know or are capable of, and ultimately celebrate a process of connection and creation.
Highlights include:
A series of workshops dedicated to “Inspired Painting” and “Inspired Drawing”, and mindfulness trainings in collaboration with Freo Mind Inc.
“My kids had so much fun they never wanted to leave Stu’s classes!”
“He helps everyone around him feel more confident to challenge themselves and create in new and exciting ways."
